SecondLook Health featured in Insurance Innovation Reporter
September 18, 2026
Insurance Innovation Reporter, a trade publication covering technology in the insurance industry, published a piece today on SecondLook Health's first enterprise deployment: a national workers' compensation organization running our clinical reasoning platform in paid production on live physical therapy cases.
Before go-live, the client's own case managers graded the platform's output item by item on several dozen cases across three rounds. Since then, every production case has been reviewed by the client's clinicians, and across more than 500 live cases the accuracy has held at 99 percent.
From the article, on the difference between summarizing a record and reasoning on it:
"Summarization shortens what is on the page. Clinical reasoning compares what is on the page against what should be there at that point in treatment," Gunn explains.
The piece also covers how the platform handles missing and conflicting information, where accountability for clinical and claims decisions sits (with the client's nurses and physical therapists), and where the same approach applies beyond physical therapy.
